Michelle Greanias
Executive Director, Grants Managers Network

Michelle serves as project manager for Project Streamline. Michelle joined GMN as its first Executive Director in May 2008. She is a longstanding member of GMN, serving as a board member from 1996-2001 and as Co-Chair from 1998-2001. Michelle has spent most of her career in philanthropy, serving most recently as Managing Director of Grants, Loans, and Procurement at the Fannie Mae Foundation.

Michelle holds Bachelors Degrees in International Studies and French/West European Studies and a Masters in Business Administration from the American University.


Jessica Bearman
Principal, Bearman Consulting

Jessica has been involved with Project Streamline since its inception and is the researcher and author of Drowning in Paperwork, Distracted from Purpose report. She currently manages the Project Streamline workgroups and provides overall strategic planning and support to the project. Jessica is an independent consultant focusing on philanthropy advising and organization development for mission-based organizations. Her work includes significant research about giving among women, rural communities, and racial, ethnic, and tribal donors. Previously, she served as deputy director of The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers’ New Ventures in Philanthropy initiative, a national project designed to grow philanthropic giving. Jessica also provides strategic program development and advising, writing and editing to the Diversity in Philanthropy Project.

Nikki Powell
Communications Manager, Grants Managers Network

Nikki manages communications materials and outreach for Project Streamline, including working directly with project partners to promote publications, research efforts, and effective practices. Nikki also serves as editor and designer of Project Streamline publications and materials, including the Project Streamline website and blog. Contact or 202-495-0419.

Catherine Downs
Senior Consultant, The Crescent Group

Catherine handles the planning and execution of local and national Project Streamline events. Catherine is a senior consultant with The Crescent Group, a New Orleans based firm that focuses on nonprofit governance and association management. Since 2000, Catherine has been the lead consultant providing staffing for GMN. Prior to her work as a consultant for nonprofits, Catherine was an associate at the law firm of Lord, Bissell & Brook in Chicago, IL where she practiced corporate law. Catherine is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT and received her J.D. cum laude from Tulane Law School. She is a member of the bar in Illinois and Louisiana.
